Newa24 – Dewald te Water is no one-trick pony when it comes to farming, and is part of a farm that’s been changing to adapt with the times and meet market demand.
He was recently honoured as the National Farmer of the Year at the 2023 Agricultural Writers SA Awards and looking at his achievements, it’s no surprise that he received this award.
The team from the Te Water Boerdery on the farm Schurvekop, near Bethal in Mpumalanga, knows how to seize opportunities and add value to every product and commodity produced, including corn, soybeans, oats, and more.
Te Water joined his brother Billy on the farm in 1999 after the farm had expanded and Billy needed the help. The farm cultivates crops, farms cattle and produces high-quality silage.
